Our Company
Building a successful company (or living a happy life for that matter) is not about embracing someone else’s
philosophy, but staying true to your own beliefs about the world and learning from the mistakes you make along the
way.
Richardson Bros. (Olds) Ltd. Was founded in 1952 by Charles and Jack Richardson. The initial TD9 Cat was replaced with two D7’s as more and more lease work became available west of Sundre.
In 1955 Charles returned to farming, leaving Jack and Jeannine Richardson as sole owners of the company. Jack in the field and Jeannine in the office. From this date forward Richardson Bros. (Olds) Ltd. has continuously grown their business in size and scope.
The past has been educational and our experience is broad. Construction has included:
- traveling north to the Territories for seismic work
- west to create forestry and lease roads
- east for the completion of the largest sewage treatment lagoon in Alberta
- south to build miles of vital irrigation canal work and related water storage facilities
A second generation of Richardson brothers began working in the summers as teenagers. The brothers became active partners once university was complete. Frank, Stephen and Larry
Richardson added significant value to Richardson Bros. (Olds) Ltd. The addition of younger blood combined with over thirty years of Western
Canadian construction experience resulted in a company with the enthusiasm to accept the challenge of any project and the wisdom to
complete it right. We are proud of our roots and our accomplishments.
